Australia: Post Study work VISA

Australia offers a post-study work visa program for international students who have graduated from an Australian educational institution. This program, known as the Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485), allows students to live and work in Australia for a period of up to four years, depending on the level of their qualification.

To be eligible for the Temporary Graduate Visa, students must have completed a degree, diploma, or trade qualification from an Australian educational institution, and have met the English language requirements. Additionally, students must have maintained their student visa status throughout their studies.

One of the benefits of the Temporary Graduate Visa is that it allows students to gain valuable work experience in their field of study, which can be beneficial for their future careers. Additionally, the program can provide students with the opportunity to network and make professional connections in Australia.

The Temporary Graduate Visa also has two streams: the Graduate Work stream and the Post-Study Work stream. The Graduate Work stream is available to students who have completed a vocational education and training (VET) qualification, or a higher education degree, while the Post-Study Work stream is available to students who have completed a higher education degree, including Masters and PhDs. The duration of the visa in the Graduate Work stream is 18 months, while the Post-Study Work stream is two, three or four years, depending on the level of their qualification.

To apply for the Temporary Graduate Visa, students must complete an online application, and submit it, along with required documents and fees, to the Department of Home Affairs. The application process can take several months, so it's important to plan ahead and apply well in advance of the desired start date.
